Dr. Pushpa Kangaratnam, PhD., C. Psych. (Psychology)

Dr. Pushpa Kanagaratnam is a registered clinical psychologist in the province of Ontario and a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario and the Ontario Psychological Association (OPA). She completed her professional degree and PhD in psychology at the University of Bergen and had practiced as a psychologist in Norway since 1996.

Dr. Kanagaratnam has worked with clients in diverse settings including private practice, at community agencies and in psychiatric hospitals. She has experience working with different ethnic groups nationally and internationally and has published peer-reviewed articles and done numerous presentations on the topics of war-related trauma, intimate partner violence, post-traumatic stress and mental health interventions in immigrants and refugees. She is an Assistant Professor at University of Toronto, Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, and has affiliate status as a Research Scientist in the Social and Epidemiological Research Department at CAMH.

She conducts independent third-party assessments and provides treatment to adults who are psychologically affected following motor vehicle and workplace accidents. She is an approved service provider for the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). Dr. Kanagaratnam is fluent in Tamil, English and Norwegian.
